This board makes a great development board for learning how to design FPGA based circuits using Verilog.  A full tutorial to get you started is available here: http://demandperipherals.com/wiki/doku.php?id=usersguide:veribb4
An easier way to use the board is as the basis for a Linux controlled software defined peripheral system.  Choose which nine peripherals you want and we will send you an FPGA image with those peripherals.  No Verilog required.  Each peripherals has a Linux API so you can easily control the system from your Python, C/C++, Rust, or Bash program.  An overview of the system is available here:  http://demandperipherals.com/wiki/doku.php?id=usersguide:usersguide
Advanced users might want to build their own custom peripherals for the system.  A document describing how to do this is available here: http://demandperipherals.com/wiki/doku.php?id=usersguide:devguide
The Linux controlled peripherals are part of the "Peripheral Control" project for which the Baseboard4 is the reference design.
