Please Note: The Primary source of power is the USB connector.
The Heltec Module has no dedicated ON/OFF switch and this battery will only serve as a short term backup to the OTG Cable to your phone, Power Bank or an AC adapter.
The battery will give you about 12 hours+ with the LCD always on - You don't have to unplug it all the time since it has under discharge protection. You can just charge it up right before your next adventure
This unit can be used as a base station plugged in using the Micro USB connector plugged into an AC adapter or on the go with your own supplied USB Power Bank or via your Phone's C connector with the provide cable.
An Optional 12 dBi Antenna is available when being used as a Base Station at home.
An Optional 5 dBi Antenna (Round or Flat Tip Depending on stock) is available when being used for hiking ETC.
You can store the antenna in the snap on back cover or there is plenty of room to plug in your own battery too.

One 1 FT long USB C to micro USB OTG cable to Power your communicator with your phone and connect your device directly instead of Bluetooth if you choose. The USB C end will plug into your Android phone with a USB C connector. The micro USB connector end plugs into this unit.
The cable is not compatible with iPhones since they use a lightning connector.
One 2 dBi Standard Antenna.

One Green Lanyard to hand the unit around your neck while hiking.
One 6 or 8 inch Velcro Strap depending on stock that can be used to attach the unit to bicycle or ATV handlebars.

The Heltec Module has Integrated LoRa, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth(Standard or BLE mode for longer range).
It does not have a built in GPS, but can use your Phone GPS to determine location.
Pressing the Top Program Button scrolls you through all of the Meshtastic Screens.
Pressing the Bottom Reset Button resets the Heltec Module.
By default unless you message me, the unit will be programmed with Meshtastic Beta Firmware 2.0.x (the latest tested feature set as of 11/08/22)
This firmware is compatible with 2.0..x Android Apps on Github or 2.0.x iPhone Apps which are available on TESTFLIGHT.
If you need the older 1.2.65 Firmware which is compatible with ATAK for Android or you have existing radios with 1.2.x Firmware and don't want to upgrade please let me know.
This 1.2.65 Firmware is compatible with the Android App 1.2.67 (the version in the Google Play store as of 10/13/22) or the iPhone App1.2.53 which is available under previous builds in the TESTFLIGHT app.
Just what is Meshtastic?
Meshtastic is an Open Source “Off Grid” secure text communication program that uses your cell phone and LoRa Radios. So, for example if you are hiking, camping or biking in areas without Cell Coverage you will be able to keep in touch with your group and know their location. Also great for emergency communications in the event of a natural disaster such as a hurricane, tornado or even a cyber attack.
Your phone connects to this unit via Standard Bluetooth or Bluetooth Low Energy(or the OTG cable) which actually has a great range of up to 300 FT. This unit connects to other radios in the group or “MESH” via LoRa 915MHz. All of the messages in the group are relayed from Radio to Radio so the actual range can be many miles depending on obstructions.
"On Grid" and want to be "Off Grid" and more secure? Simple -Turn off your Cellular Service and your WiFi - even your Bluetooth if you use the OTG cable.
