ASUS is a trusted name in computing and the specs for this board make it a top of the line platform.
You can download the operating system of your choice from ASUS's website.  With the Google Coral Dev board, there is only one supported operating system, Mendel.  Mendel has very limited adoption and is rather obscure.  The Tinker Edge R has native support for both Debian and Android.  It makes for a more flexible and familiar user/configuration experience.
I would recommend Android.  The downloaded operating system package also contains the DriverAssistant.zip package.  You can use this to install the necessary drivers.
The "Getting Started" guide that comes with the Tinker Edge R will walk you through the setup process.  It is straight forward and will get you tinkering without a lot of hassle.
